Black stainless steel and fingerprint-resistant stainless often have a factory-applied top layer. Use the brand, model number and finish name to find the cleaning instructions. Confirm which cleaners and added treatments are permitted before applying either Fixture Shield product. When the instructions specify mild soap and water only, keep to that routine.
Everyday fingerprints and smudges
On finishes approved for Surface Revive, remove loose debris, lightly mist a clean microfiber towel, wipe evenly and buff dry. Keep the towel clean and work in small sections so you can see the finish as you go. Use a separate dry towel for the final buff.
When to choose ceramic protection
On a finish that permits Home Ceramic Coating, remove grease, deposits and cleaner residue before application. Dry the surface, apply a fine mist, spread evenly and buff away excess following the label. Allow 2 hours before use and 24 hours for full cure.
